Getting around
Renting a car and driving is the best way to fully experience the Faroe Islands. Public transport does exist, but buses don't run to most places very frequently. You can pick up rental cars when you arrive at the airport on Vagar, but it is recommended that you book your car ahead of time, especially during the summer. (Search for rental cars here.)
Roads in the Faroe Islands are paved and well-maintained, but they can be very narrow and twisty.
